Practical Considerations

Going to Jerusalem is not a theoretical experience. If you are coming to St. George's College Jerusalem, you must consider the time and money involved in getting here. There are several courses from which to choose during the year. There are some partial and full-tuition scholarships available.

When you come to St. George's College Jerusalem, your course fees cover your room and board, tuition, transportation for field trips, as well as admission fees to sites and museums. Your travel expenses to and from the College are your responsibility. You must be in the College by 1800 (6:00 pm) the night before a course begins, and if we have room, you may stay a few days after the course, for a minimal cost. The courses at St. George's College Jerusalem are full-time, and you won't have very much time for extra curricular activities.

Courses are physically demanding, and while there are no age limits, please make sure you are physically fit before you enroll. That means you should be prepared for some long days, extended bus journeys, lengthy walks and hikes over rough, hilly terrain. And, there may be some off-road travel by jeep if your course goes to the desert. It may be cold and wet in the winter and hot and dry in the summer. If you have any special medical or dietary concerns, you must discuss them with your physician AND with the College before you enroll. The College does not provide special meals and there are no facilities in the College to care for your children.

If you have a group that would like to visit St. George's College Jerusalem for a course, we can make arrangements. And, we may be able to create a special course for a large group. For further information on special courses, please contact Dr. Henry Carse at carse@stgeorges.org.il.

If you cannot come to St. George's College Jerusalem now, but you want to support our community and spiritual growth, there are several ways you can do that. The College tithes its operating budget to offer scholarships for students who could not otherwise come to St. George's College Jerusalem. But the need for those scholarships exceeds the amount of money available, as the reputation of the College continues to grow in developing countries.
