Welcome to St. George's College Jerusalem Library
|

A modern library of over 21,000 volumes and 40 periodicals on two floors of
the College building, the College Library is intended as a resource for course
Members as well as more specific research. The periodicals are wonderful for
browsing on current developments. For your convenience the Card Catalog is now

CIRCULATION
The Library's Circulation Desk is located to the left of the library entrance and is staffed during all hours the library is open. Circulation services are responsible for charge-out procedures, book returns, shelving, renewals, overdue fines and answers for all inquiries concering borrowing and access privileges.
ADMITTANCE TO LIBRARY
Access to the St. George's College Library is to the following who may have borrowing privileges:
- St. George's College staff (part-time, full-time, volunteers, lecturers)
These may borrow up to five books for ten days.
- Course Members
These may borrow up to three books at a time, until the last day of the current College course. Only course members are allowed to use the library after the regular hours.
- Members of the St. George's College Library
These may borrow up to three books at a time for one week with possible extension, unless a book is recalled.
The following non-circulating library materials are to be used only in the Library:
- Reference books
- Periodicals/Series
- Books in the Special Collection
- Books in the Palestinian Collection
- Recent Accessions
- Reserve items
PERIODICALS
Current issues of periodicals are displayed in alphabetical order on shelves. They are located to the right of the library entrance. Earlier volumes of periodicals are classified and bound in the stacks in the compact shelves.
PALESTINIAN COLLECTION
This area houses a special collection on the history of Palestine.
PHOTOCOPYING
Library users who need to have pages, articles and other items photocopied should leave the book or periodical concerned at the Circulation Desk together with NIS 0/60 for each copy. The copies will be available within 24 hours.
RESERVED MATERIALS
Materials places on reserve for specific courses are kept on the shelves right to the entrance of the library. They can be borrowed by course members and resident staff for overnight use, only after 4:30 pm. When borrowed for overnight use, these materials must be returned to the Circulation Desk by 8:00 am Monday through Thursday.
