The spirit of St George’s College was
definitely rekindled in the hearts and minds of those who gathered
at Kanuga Conference Center on February 19th
through the 22nd.
We remembered our personal time at St. George’s College;
reconnected with fellow pilgrims; and worshiped, learned and
celebrated the mission of the College together.
The facilities, presentations, worship services and social
opportunities re-ignited our appreciation for the life-changing
experiences made possible through College courses and rekindled the
spirit of these experiences within us all.
There was plenty of time to catch up with old
pilgrim companions and meet new ones during the evening receptions
in the famous Kanuga Lodge Fireside Room and around the dining room
tables. Our spirits were fed by the bible studies and worship
services. (Coincidentally, the Gospel reading was
Mark 9:2-9, the transfiguration story.) Our
minds were stretched and fed by the numerous presentations given on
a variety of subjects from “The Art of Journaling” to “Peace in the
Holy Land, What Can We Do”. And finally, the Bent
Grass Bluegrass Band entertained us on Saturday night.
Having Rana Khoury, Genia Stephan, Simone Qumri
and Samir Khayo, members of St. George’s College staff, at the event
really made us feel part of the St George’s College family.
We are forever grateful to NARC for their generous financial
support that made this possible. We also thank
all the Presenters for sharing their knowledge and passions with us,
and to our worship leaders from SSJE for orchestrating such
wonderfully simple yet profound spiritual opportunities.
And finally, we are so grateful to each and
every participant for sharing his or her love and experiences, which
breathed life into the weekend. The Holy Spirit
was definitely working within our hearts and minds in refreshing and
reinvigorating ways.
